Research Interests:

My current research interests involve an interdisciplinary approach to understanding human physical performance at both the cultural and cognitive level. I am particularly interested in understanding the role of mediation in the construction of performances in artistic gymnastics.
This research agenda combines my experience and interest in cultural studies and theories of mind. My research also draws upon my experience with film and video technology both as a means of expression and as analytical tools. Outside of my main area of research, I am also interested in issues of race, sex, and representation.
