Lecture Concert for Solo Shakuhachi


Part V: Shakuhachi from 1930s to the 1980s

On Sunday, June 11, Masakazu Yoshizawa will continue his series of concerts and lectures on the history of the shakuhachi tradition and music with a lecture and performance of shakuhachi music from the 20th Century.

The lecture will feature guest performer Hiromi Hashibe on Koto and Sangen.

The program will include the following pieces:

Meikyo
Ichikotsu
Hira
Jinchu no Shakuhachi
Kakurin
Chikurai go Sho
Kaze no Uta

The lecture and performance will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2000, at 2:00 in the afternoon in the Cultural Room on the 5th Floor of the JACCC (Japan/American Community Cultural Center) 244 South San Pedro in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
