ARTISTS STATEMENT
“I am reversible between the fine art of painting and the craft of
fiber and quilt making. I love the idea of the quilt. The surface design,
layering, piecing and the labor-intensive craft process. I utilize embroidery,
appliqué, photographic transfer processes to fiber, textile dyes,
and beading for embellishments in my pieces. Likewise, I appreciate the
immediacy of encaustic, collage and other painting mediums, which enable
you to scratch away the surface on wood, canvas and hardboard supports.
My art lends itself to narration, abstract expressionism through landscape
and natural form.”
