I have been an avid photographer since junior high when I had a darkroom to develop and print black and white photographs. After coming to California in 1961, I turned taking color transparencies (slides) of the wonderful places we visited in the western U.S. and Mexico. A select few photos were made into prints which were framed and displayed in my home. My slide shows became very popular with our friends and it was they who encouraged me to do more with display photography.
My main focus in is landscape and nature photography. I enjoy shooting from unusual angles and different lighting conditions, but when traveling it is sometimes necessary to accept conditions as they are. Fog and approaching storms are two of my favorites. Visiting a new part of the continent is especially exciting since it opens up whole new possibilities for photographs.

I retired from UCSD in 1993 as a project engineer with the Center for Astrophysics and Space Sciences (CASS). Prior to that, I was an engineer for General Dynamics /Convair.

My wife Nancy and I spend a few months each year traveling by RV and photographing along the way.
