FEATURED ARTISTS
UCSD is comprised of thousands of individuals working on campus in various jobs/careers. They differ by sex, race, religion, politics, and personal interests. For many of them, their sense of community is limited to that of their immediate department. The event brings together people from these various differences and creates a new art-related community. Not only is the community comprised of individuals with varying degrees of abilities/creative forms, but also people who enjoy art for inspiration/relaxation/purchase.One of the VAG's objectives is the creation of a safe environment for all established AND emerging artists within the UCSD community. This group is special because it is unique! There has been no group on campus before now where UCSD Staff, Faculty, and Students exhibited artwork as a united UCSD community. This group presents an opportunity to view the work of colleagues, co-workers, acquaintances, and new friends from the UCSD community. VAG came about from the efforts of creative individuals with the desire to facilitate interaction with artists and viewers of art within the UCSD community.
The VAG offers a fresh venue for spotlighting the unique creative diversity of the UCSD community - not only of the art educators but also of the staff UCSD Another Side of Us!
