Jann Pasler (Ph.D, University of Chicago) has been a professor in the Music Department at UCSD since 1981. Musicologist, pianist, and documentary filmmaker, she has also practiced Chinese brush painting, studying first with I-Hsiung Ju in Virginia in late 1970s, and then with Jean Shen in San Diego since the early 1990s. Her work has been included in numerous local exhibitions, including those of the Chinese Brush Painting Society and the San Diego County Fair. At the 2002 San Diego County Fair, one of her paintings won second prize, and another honorable mention.
