Jan Thompson was born with a passion for hiking. From the time she was able to walk, she was hiking along the hillsides of the coastal region of Southern California where she was raised.
Putting her love for photography together with her enthusiasm for the outdoors, she is able to bring you up close to a very special world – the ever-changing world of nature.
For Jan, there is nothing like the excitement of being outdoors and at one with nature…and traveling by bicycle and on foot makes one even closer to our country's natural beauty. She and her husband travel via their tandem bicycle that is set up for self-contained bicycle touring.

Currently, Jan is a Program Representative for the Introduction to Clinical Medicine Courses at UCSD School of Medicine. She has worked for the University since 1987.
