Witteman
I started painting in my early
20s. My interest and participation in art evolved over the years
without any formal training. It has become a life long passion. To me,
painting is a way to relate to the world; it brings personal satisfaction
and a feeling of peace. The subjects I paint are often from a photograph
that I took on a trip, or perhaps from a note card I received from a friend.
Renoir is my mentor; his depth of color and treatment of light motivate
me to be creative and express lifes beauty. Ive exhibited paintings
at Virginia Commonwealth University as well as UCSD and have many paintings
in private homes. My latest sales were to Calgary Canada and a commission
to a local resident of San Diego. My goal is to exhibit in small galleries in town and perhaps sell my paintings over the internet.
