Important Please Read: Revised Entry Guidelines for VAG 2010 UCSD CALENDAR
To our members:
In order to show a wider variety of both subject matter and include the artistic genre of all our members, this year’s calendar will include watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, 3 dimensional art, jewelry, and photography. The subject matter will no longer be restricted to UCSD but may be whatever you do best. We want everyone to participate!
Claudia DaMetz was awarded 1st and 3rd prize for two photographs at DreamAbility 2009 art show at the Escondido Arts Partnership Municipal Gallery, April 7th thru May 1st, 2009. Coordinated by Marty Tiedeman. Juried by Kathy Rubesha, Chair, Board of Trustees California Center for the Arts, Escondido.

On two Sundays during the run of the show, visitors brought in a few of their photos to discuss and share with the exhibiting artists.

Gallery 21, at the Spanish Village in Balboa Park will host an exhibition of the recent work of two LJAA members, Dan Levine and Lev Tsimring, along with three other award-winning photographers, Janine Free, Jan Thompson, and Judi Works. The exhibition is free and open to the public from Wednesday, July 22nd through Monday,
August 3rd, 11am - 4pm.An open house will take place at Gallery 21 on Saturday, July 25th, 1-3 pm. The jazz band, "Endangered Speciez," will perform in the Spanish Village courtyard.
Janine Free
Janine Free creates images of urban landscapes ranging from realism to surrealism to abstract.
Dana Levine
Dana Levine of La Jolla uses the camera to search for vulnerability and beauty in unexpected, unlikely places. Her photographs evoke a peaceful serenity through color and composition.
Jan Thompson
Jan Thompson of Encinitas puts her love for photography together with her enthusiasm for the outdoors to bring you "a slice of Americana" found right inside or outside your own back door.
Lev Tsimring
Lev Tsimring of San Diego works in many genres from abstract photography to portraits and landscape, but he always tries to go beyond superficial beauty to elicit strong emotional and intellectual response from the viewer.
Judy Works
Judi Works of Encinitas is a nature photographer. She enjoys the challenge of photographing the outdoors from her kayak and along the hiking trail.
