Use of Sequoyah 142
The lab may be reserved by faculty for Communication courses.
When the lab is not reserved for a specific course, it is available for
use by Communication students enrolled in courses whose professor has
requested they be given access.
The lock records which combinations are used to open the door as well
as the time the combination was used. This allows us to track who was
in the lab. For this reason, it is imperative that students keep their
codes to themselves.
The following rules apply to the use of the room:
- Absolutely NO food or drink in the room,
including water. Liquids and computers do not mix and food crumbs
destroy keyboards.
- The doors and windows to the room will remain closed at all
times. In addition to the security hazard, dust and salt air from
outside will cause damage to the computers.
- No one aside from authorized students in designated courses
(those who have been issued an access code) is allowed in the
lab. Students are not to bring friends or visitors into the lab.
- In order to prevent software viruses and possible copyright
violations, users will not load software on the machines in the
lab. This includes personal copies of programs, shareware or
freeware programs, or software downloaded off the Internet or World
Wide Web.
