E-mail
and phone contacts
Feel free to call
us during regular business hours if you have a question that has not
been answered by this website. The best people to contact are Undergraduate
Advisers Bea Velasco and Jamie Lloyd, or our Graduate Coordinator, Gayle
Aruta, who will either be able to answer your question or will know
who can.
Visiting
us in person
If you are interested
in applying to our program, we invite you to come see the department
and the campus for yourself. The best approach is to call ahead to schedule
your visit with either Bea Velasco or Jamie Lloyd, as well as the Office
of Admissions if you are a prospective undergraduate. They will be able
to help you find your way, point out people and places you should see
while you are here, and help with the details.
To get to the
Communication Department:
from
the north (from Los Angeles, etc):
Take Interstate
5 south to the La Jolla Village Drive exit. At the end of the ramp
take a right. Just as La Jolla Village Drive goes through one light
and begins up the hill, bear right onto Gilman Drive... see below
for further instructions.
from the
south (from downtown San Diego, the airport, etc):
Take Interstate
5 north to the La Jolla Village Drive exit. At the end of the ramp
take a left. Go straight over the highway, through the first light.
Just as La Jolla Village Drive goes through its next light and begins
up the hill, bear right onto Gilman Drive.
Gilman is the
main entrance to campus; the first building on your right will be
a kiosk offering information about campus and parking. They have campus
maps available and will be able to direct you to the department best.
Campus
maps are available online.
For a map of the
area, go directly to Yahoo maps (roughly UCSD) or Yahoo maps (roughly San Diego county).
