Directions and Maps

The department is situated on the west side of the UCSD campus, with access from the I-5 via La Jolla Village Drive (UCSD MapLink has further maps of campus and driving directions)

The university is a 15 minute drive north of San Diego:

Public transportation

The campus is served by UCSD shuttle buses that connect the campus with local transport connections, and other UCSD sites, and the San Diego city buses. A free shuttle service connects UCSD campus with Hillcrest, a popular residental area north of the city center.

City buses are free (as are the UCSD Shuttles) to students, staff, and faculty with an ID card and sticker.

Parking on campus

Parking space on campus is limited and it is best to check in advance before travelling. For parking permits, directions, and campus maps visit a parking visitor information center:

• Gilman Drive from Interstate 5
  EXIT on Gilman Dr. and head north
  Continue for about 1.5 miles and enter the Center on your right

• North Point from Interstate 5
  EXIT Genesee Ave. and head west
  Turn left on North Torrey Pines Rd.(3rd traffic light)
  Turn left on North Point Dr.(1st traffic light)
  Turn right at the second stop sign into the Center
