Research Interests:

Though my undergraduate and masters degrees are both in English literature, I have been an active musician for most of my life and in recent years have become interested in issues pertaining to popular music.  I am particularly interested in questions of gendered performance and identity in the indie rock and emo music scenes, as well as the geography of show spaces. 

I believe in the power of the keytar.
