Currently conducting dissertation research focusing on infrastructure protection, regulatory reform, technological change, and democracy. |

Research Associate, Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation, University of California, San Diego, 2006-2008. Researched, developed, and co-authored a graduate-level interdisciplinary curriculum on critical infrastructure protection with a cross-university team of scholars.
Senior Teaching Associate, Department of Communication, University of California, San Diego, 2006-2007. Organized and led orientation for all incoming teaching assistants in the Department of Communication. Provided continued assistance, feedback, and materials to TAs during the year. |

Critical Infrastructure and Control Systems Security Curriculum (Washington, DC: DHS, 2007). An interdisciplinary graduate-level curriculum sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security focusing on the public policies, technical issues, and managerial principles associated with achieving robust and resilient critical infrastructures. With Philip Auerswald, Lewis Branscomb, Michael Kleeman, and Todd M. La Porte.
Hazardous Material Transportation and the Security Externality: What Should be Done? (2008). Funded through Massachusetts Institute of Technology and administered through the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and PI Lewis Branscomb. This ongoing study examines the risks associated with rail transportation of hazardous materials, possible mitigation strategies, and public policy recommendations. With Lewis Branscomb, Mark Fagan, and Philip Auerswald.
