My
interests have dealt with language use to convey identity within the
realm of television news broadcasts as well as radio broadcasts. Some
of the papers that I wrote during my M.A. program were: Language
and Identity in The Mark and Brian Radio Program, Recapitation
of the Talking Heads: Deterrence from traditional broadcast identity
on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Broadcaster Pronunciation:
Spanish vs. English pronunciation on the 11 p.m. Television News.
My current interest specifically deals with the performance of gender
and sexuality through language use within the arenas of stand-up comedy
and sketch comedy. |
