Research Interests
I am interested in relationships between consumption, technology and the environment. My dissertation project focuses on the materiality of plastic waste, investigating the science of the Pacific Garbage Patch and how it might be connected to changing consumption and disposal practices. In considering how power works through materials, meanings and practices, I hope to better understand both attempts to manage flows of materials and how ‘things’ communicate in everyday life.
