MAJEED: I sent you all a map with the article. What is happening is that the fence is zigzagging. For instance at Qualqaliya it goes about 27 kilometers into Palestinian land. It shunts off all of town of Qualqaliya. The people of Qualqaliya, to access their land to get to their property outside the fence have only a ten-feet gate, that 's all, and most of the time it is shut. The problem is not the people within the fence, the real problem is for the people that are between the green line, which is Israel proper before '67,and the fence. Those people are not allowed to go into Israel proper but at the same time they are shut off completely by the fence. All that it is doing is forcing people to make a decision It is nothing more than a transfer, it is nothing but cleansing of the land, but they have to make the decision on their own because of how bad things are. That's what the wall is. The total boundary between Palestine, that's what I call the West Bank, and Israel I think is 225 kilometers. The wall is going to be 1000 kilometers long. The other thing is, 35 feet high,, a three and a half story building, and 10 feet wide! |
