Jacob Hellman

Ph.D. Candidate

Jacob Hellman is a PhD candidate in UC San Diego's Communication Department. He researches the cultural nexus of accumulation and the creation of new economic subjectivities. He is completing a dissertation on the popularization of early-stage startup investing.

Jacob has a BA in Political Theory from Oberlin College, and attended Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. He also worked as an artist, and insulated low-income housing in Philadelphia.
