Bio
Gavin Halm teaches media making and history courses across domains such as 2D/3D animation, the production of virtual and gaming worlds, film/TV industries and production, AI and generative image culture, advertising and society, among others. Professionally, his most recent past work spanned virtual reality entertainment experiences for multiple Hollywood studios after graduating from UCLA’s School of the Arts with an MFA in Media Arts in 2014. As an artist, his work tends towards more traditional media such as drawing and painting, but includes work in abstract computer-based animation. He also holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts from UCSD’s VisArts.
